Youth Health Team

The Youth Health Team is a multidisciplinary outreach service consisting of Clinical Nurse Consultants, Social Workers, a Staff Specialist Paediatrician and Administration Officer. The Youth Health Team provides services to young people affected by: Homelessness, or at risk of homelessness, Stressful life situations, physical and emotional concerns, relationship issues including domestic violence, At risk behaviours, Sexuality concerns, Sexual health issues and chronic illness.

What services are provided?

The Youth Health Team provides: Sexual Health Education, Contraceptive advice, STI screening and education, Pregnancy Testing and pregnancy options counselling, Post Termination counselling, Support with general health issues, Counselling for dealing with life situations, Referral to other services and service providers and assistance with navigating the health system.

The Youth Health Team provides outreach or centre based appointments.

Do I need a referral and how do I make an appointment?

Referrals can be made by the young person, community organisations schools, doctors, parents and any other interested person on the Youth Health Team referral form (doc 126K). For enquiries please call the Youth Health Team Office on 49257804.
