Christmas cheer to light up Children’s Hospital

 

‘Tis the season to be jolly, but for a number of children acutely ill or injured it is difficult to be merry at Christmas.

On Thursday 15 December at John Hunter Children’s Hospital the annual Christmas Party will attempt to bring some Christmas cheer to both inpatients and outpatients of the Hospital.

The day of entertainment includes visits from special guests such as Shaun Diviney (lead singer of Short Stack), The Newcastle Jets, Star Wars Stormtroopers, The Australian Reptile Park and of course Santa Claus.

Inpatients, thanks to community donations will receive a Christmas gift from Santa and Mrs Claus as they visit each and every patient.

Captain Starlight said the day is always a blur and there is no other option for patients but to relax and enjoy the entertainment and visitors.

“It’s not often that Captain Starlight is showed up on her own turf, but Christmas Party Day is special, there’s something about the day where you can’t help but smile,” Captain Starlight said.
