Oral Health

Free general and emergency dental care for children 0-18 years who normally reside within the boundary of the providing Area Health Service and are eligible for Medicare.

Referrals can be received from: the statewide Early Childhood Oral Health (ECOH) program (eg Child & Family Health nurses or Division GP's in the 4 year health check); Little Smiles program being implemented in late 2009 (eg childcare centres 0-5 yrs focus); Super Smiles (school based referral program); or self referral via the call centre.

Children are triaged by the call centre using a standard ISOH questionnaire, which determines the child's priority for care.
